Ceramic Paint / Collection Rumst

Research, 2015

The Rupelstreek in Belgium is well known for his brick-making. Dozens of clay quarries were operating in the past. Nowadays only one quarry is still in operation, producing bricks. After finishing the fieldwork, commissioned by restaurant De Pastorale (BE), I collected around 64 clay-, sand-, water-, and stone samples to develop a color palette with.
The founded materials have been dried, grind and sieved to achieve the perfect base to color porcelain with.
The end result is a palette of 30 colors, including recipes, which can be used to color new tableware for De Pastorale.
